E-Commerce - the Effect on Retail Chains and Traditional Trade Logistics
Abstract
In terms of a detailed analysis for the complex effects of E-Commerce on retail chains and traditional trade logistics a sharp distinction has to be drawn between the two major ways of online transactions, Business-to-Business (B2B) and Business-to-Consumer (B2C). Either for the B2B or for the B2C are it is necessary to create constant IT-structures, adjust process structures to the needs resulting out the atomisation of consignments, co-operate in order to compensate high-dynamic ordering and to createflexibility (a public shared warehousing), decrease procurement costs by integrating suppliers and service providers in the system.
