Titel
Efficient scoping with CaVE - a case study
Abstract
The information needed for product line scoping is usually elicited interactively with high involvement of domain experts of the application domain. In this paper we present a case study that applies the PuLSE-CaVE approach that provides information for scoping from user documentation. We shortly sketch the CaVE extraction approach that gives guidance on how to elicit knowledge from existing user documentation and its role in scoping. The industrial case study shows that the approach produces results with a correctness of over 79% and a completeness between 37 and 89%. We also show that the expert load can be reduced by more than 60% (3-9 hours) per subdomain during scoping.
