Development of a tool for life cycle cost controlling
Abstract

So far life cycle costing models are developed for cost input and cost forecasts. But these forecasts are often similar to a look through a crystal ball because they do not allow for a dynamical adaptation. Thus a well directed cost controlling over the whole life cycle is not possible with the current models. Now a new tool was developed at the IFF that enables the acquiring, predicting and controlling of the life cycle costs of industrial goods. For this purpose many life cycle costing models were analysed und tested regarding their quality features in order to find an applicable approach as guideline for the development of the tool. The integration of cost controlling is realised by a cost variance analysis, a sensitivity analysis and a controlling of the service maintenance sector.
