Titel
Improvements for time and frequency synchronization in OFDM systems
Abstract
The most common synchronization algorithm used for preamble detection in an OFDM system is the Schmidl-Cox algorithm. As it has a high demand on computational complexity, we propose to use a simplified version based on a threshold value depending on the received energy. We show analytically that this algorithm achieves a similar detection performance. We further show attainable improvements of the preamble- based frequency synchronization if a preamble with multiple signal periods is applied.
