Abstract
We present a method to design a broadband microwave absorber composed of lossy dielectric resonator array. The resonators have a cylindrical shape and are arranged in a square array above a metallic plate. The realized prototype consists of 32 × 32 resonators (25.6 cm × 25.6 cm × 0.5 cm). These resonators are made of materials from a commercial laminate magnetic absorber. The reflectivity at the X-band (8 GHz - 12 GHz) has been measured and compared to that of a commercial magnetic absorber. A reflectivity of -21 dB to -25 dB is achieved for this prototype, while that of -9 dB to -12 dB is obtained for the commercial one.
