Titel
Abstract

Open-cell foams based on thermoplastics offer great potential in various areas of application such as acoustics or filter technology. In addition, the use of thermoplastics makes it possible to recycle foams compared to duromer-based foams. However, in order to cover an area of application as large as possible, it must be possible to adapt the cell size and the degree of open cell structure to an application. During this work the targeted influencing of the cell size of polypro-pylene-based foams could be achieved by diaphragms with different polyethylene-based polymers, by nucleation and by varying the propellant content (CO2). In the course of the preliminary tests, it was also possible to influence the content of open-cells. It can also be shown that the airborne sound absorption of the foams can be adjusted by influencing the cell morphology.
