Most propellants used today comprise one or more plasticizers to adjust the properties of the binder for the respective use case. However little is known about the interaction between these plasticizers. In a first step to get more insight into this field this work aims to investigate the interaction of different typical plasticizers with each other. Mixtures of plasticizers with different ratios were prepared and analyzed by Differential Scanning Calorimetry with respect to the glass transition temperature. The results reveal that the glass transition temperature of the mixtures depends mainly on three aspects: the chemical compatibility, the difference in glass transition temperatures of the pure plasticizers and the strength of the interaction between the plasticizers.
