A decoupling of resource use and productivity increase is essential for a transition to sustainable production. In this context, the developed vision of an Ultra-Efficiency Factory facilitates sustainable growth including the fields of action material, energy, emissions, human/staff and organization. However, most companies have no orientation to what extent they can and need to improve. Missing guidelines and comparisons of companies make it difficult to identify critical fields of actions and potential improvements. Thus, this paper aims to develop guiding principles for specific industry sectors which enable a first orientation for companies referencing to studies, political objectives and statistical data.
