Titel
Real-time infrared tracking system for virtual environments
Abstract
In this paper a wireless infrared motion tracking system created in the Fraunhofer Institute for Media Communication is described. The system is able to track stylus and head of a user simultaneously and in real time. Infrared beacons are used to allow the system to operate together with projectors without their influence. The principles of the calibration process, distortion correction and reconstruction are described. The characteristics of the tracking system are given with regard to the hardware configuration needed.
