Titel
Stochastic analyzes and Monte-Carlo simulations of nonlinear and non-ideal mixed-signal phase-locked loops
Abstract
This work deals with the efficient stochastic analyzes of mixed-signal (MS) systems like the phase-locked loop (PLL) considering non-ideal effects. For the description of the PLL and its non-ideal effects a highly efficient and fully event-driven (ED) model is used preceding to a fast and precise system insight. This model is utilized for an exhaustive characterization of the nonlinear PLL behavior taking process, voltage and temperature variations into account. For this, numerous parameter studies and Monte-Carlo simulations are presented. Later, the shown results can be the basis for a more robust design methodology of the MS PLL by knowing all possible loop performances.
