Titel
Innovative separation techniques for better particleboards made of waste wood
Abstract
At present, foreign substances in recycled wood are mainly detected by using mechanical sieving and optical separation techniques. These techniques detect a large quantity of foreign substances due to their different mass (mechanical sieving) or their different colours (optical methods). Despite numerous different available methods a considerable portion of the foreign substances will still remain undetected. In order to recognize these undetected materials, a complementary detection method would be desirable to allow removal of the foreign bodies not registered by the optical and mechanical methods from the production process. One solution to solve this problem can be an online infrared technique another promising way can be the use of new online spectroscopic techniques working in the visible (VIS) or in the near infrared (NIR) wavelength region.
