Efficient estimation of mutual coupling is of great interest when designing large antenna arrays. Recently, two methods have become available which allow to estimate mutual coupling between elements of arbitrary shape. Both methods are solver-unspecific and can be used in combination with a variety of commercially available tools. In this paper, we propose a modification for one of these methods to further reduce computational efforts. Results for the reference case of two flat strip dipoles are compared. The overall quality of estimation and the methods' usability are discussed.
