Flexible OLED devices on the base of ultra-thin glass (UTG) substrates are developed to meet several requirements for optical quality, mechanical durability and ultra-high barrier properties. Still open challenges are the cutting and handling process of the UTG in the manufacturing process. Some key aspects of light out-coupling are presented as a part of the developments of the recently started Fraunhofer project CeGlaFlex.
