Abstract
Disruption is one of the keywords within today’s business environment. It is often used to describe potential changes due to innovations for industries or single companies. Within these descriptions, definitions vary between academic and general definitions. Only little information is available on how companies are dealing with potential disruptive technologies (PDTs). Thus, the key question is, how disruptions are considered in technology monitoring or planning in practice and more specifically in the context of roadmapping processes. This paper presents the preliminary results of data collected until the end of December 2016 of a study carried out in the timeline between September 2016 and February 2017.
