Title

Outdoor mobility assistance - technologies helping on the way

Abstract
In our society, the individual quality of life in all age groups is significantly influenced by a person's own mobility. Mobility is a core requirement for many activities through which people are able to, for example, earn their livelihood or participate in society on a social level. An individual's desire for mobility barely changes as they grow older but their requirements and possibilities do. A decreasing amount of individual flexibility particularly hinders a person's use of different transport means available to them. Although local public transport systems in major cities are often developed very well, people living in rural areas mostly rely on individual transport. Additionally, health issues may cause further barriers to move or even go outside. The innovative projects and concepts presented here aim to develop for age-appropriate and secure mobility. They have the objective of filling the gaps resulting from these situations.
