Titel
Energy-autarkic smart sensor insole for telemedical patient monitoring
Abstract
In this paper we present our work to develop a modular multisensor system with wireless signal output and powered by energy harvesting for telemedical applications. The goal is to monitor patient's vital data in nursing home and home care. As a first demonstrator we assembled a gyroscope, temperature and pressure sensors and a microcontroller with Bluetooth transmitter on a flexible printed board. Powered by a coincellcoin cell and encapsulated in silicone, the smart sensor insole can monitor the patient's activity and detect falls. An energy harvesting version for energy-autarkic operation including capacitive harvester, rechargeable microbattery and battery management circuit is under development.
