Title

Data analysis of PEV charging events in rural and business environments - a load behaviour comparison

Abstract
The design and optimal planning of charging infrastructure pose a major challenge for the development of electromobility. Oversized charging stations lead to unnecessary high investment costs, which might hinder the realization of certain infrastructure projects, whereas undersized stations increase the risk of overload during peak times. The key to an optimal charging infrastructure is the exact knowledge of the electric vehicles' (EV) energy demand as a function of time, location and way of utilization. On the one hand this infortnation can be provided by complex simulations of traffic and energy flows. On the other hand extensive field tests in public places can give a realistic insight into the charging behaviour of EV users and be used for model validations. The present paper addresses the latter approach by analysing charging events of different EV field tests.
