Waveguide crossings with low crosstalk at small angles
Abstract
Waveguide crossings with different small crossing angles were simulated and experimentally investigated using components fabricated on a silica on silicon platform. To achieve low crosstalk a region at small angles besides the generally used regime can be found. The affiliated angles are about a factor of 3 smaller than the angles conventionally applied to achieve comparable low crosstalk values. This offers a way to realize more compact devices.
