Abstract

The bachelor thesis presented in the following entails a PLC (Programmable Logic Controller) platform for the control of an already existing test bed which uses inductively excited thermography for non-destructive testing. This testing process is controlled using LabView which is a programming software using graphical syntax designed by the company National Instruments. The idea behind this concept is a constant data exchange between LabView and the PLC platform using an industrial Ethernet connection. The TOUCH panel by the company Siemens is used as an interface between the user and the test bed. Various inputs and outputs were implemented using the software "WinCC flexible 2008" which serves as the human-machine interface program. This way, the user can exchange information with the test bed. The PLC then processes this information and passes it on to LabView using the Transmission Control Protocol (TCP). LabView then confirms data reception by sending the previously received data back. This means that there is an additional data reception acknowledgement beside the TCP which is develo-ped to lie on the PLC side and is called a "PLC handshake". A condition change of the in- and outputs can only take place after a successful "PLC handshake". A double-sided data exchange is now ensured.
