Abstract
A novel copolymer. Poly{N-[(2-ethyl)-hexyl]-2,7(8)-phenothianinylenevinylene-co-2,5-bis[2,2 '-didodecyloxy-(p-phenylenevinylene)]1,3,4-oxadiazole} (P-PT-OXA-EH) exhibiting high decomposing temperature (T-dc = 352degreesC), was designed and synthesized successfully. The single-layer device of ITO/P-PT-OXA-EH/Ca/Ag was fabricated and bright yellow emission was obtained with a peak wavelength of 566 nm. At 40 mA current. the brightness of the device made through 0.3 % polymeric solution in chloroform is about 2000 cd/m(2) on 102 mm(2) display area. and the output efficiency of the device is about 1 %.
