A considerable part of today's enterprise information flow consists of the exchange of messages between individuals such as e-mail correspondence. With the increasing amount of such messages several problems in information logistics arise that lead to an inefficient and sometimes inconsistent information flow. One major problem is that today's message provision is generally not taking the time-dependent usability of a message into account. A promising solution to this problem has been tested in MeLog, a system that calculates the value of a message with respect to the user's situations. A central concept of MeLog is the relevance between a message and the situations of the receiver. In this paper we present a new approach to estimate this relevance utilizing semantic matching technologies that have been implemented in BaSeWeP, a knowledge based web portal framework. We will show the integration of these semantic technologies within MeLog and discuss the applicability of this approach in a domain specific enterprise environment.
