Titel
Design process support for technology choice with innovation and risk management
Abstract
The building sector is blamed for being less innovative than other technology sectors. There is no suitable methodology available combining risk and innovation management in a way that provides an appropriate scheme for choosing the right technologies for every single design. A new design process is built, integrating both BIM and innovation and risk management, thus giving support to the stakeholders in choosing appropriate technologies. This design process combines parts of different methods (E-OCVM, QFD) together. It brings the advantage of being able to influence the design from the earliest phase. This means reducing risks in costs, time and low-quality by fewer changes in later design phases. The described process must be validated. Yet the first practical use of some parts of it already shows usable results. For validation, it is planned to take an observer role in a building design and construction within the German publicly funded project BIMiD.
