This paper investigates the application of a non-parametric data-dependent mismatched filtering method in GSM based passive radar systems. The Iterative Adaptive Approach for Amplitude and Phase Estimation algorithm (IAA-APES) is applied and its performance is compared to the Matched Filtering (MF) method. IAA-APES is adapted to the passive radar estimation task and a comparison in terms of range resolution and SNR loss is performed using simulated data.
