Abstract
A customizable product line engineering approach must be independent of a fixed product set. Therefore, a technique is neces-sary, which, when applied, enables any type of workproduct to cap-ture variabilities. In this paper, such a technique is motivated and briefly visualized on the example of UML diagrams. Additionally, a decision model is described that supports the intellectual control of variable model sets.
