Titel
Multi-gigabit data transmission at 240 GHz with complex baseband power detection
Abstract
In this paper, we present the wireless data transmission of incoherent non-return to zero on-off keying (NRZ-OOK) signals with a data rate of 10 Gbit/s at a carrier frequency of 240 GHz. The transmitter (Tx) and receiver (Rx) are separated by a distance of 10 m. For a realistic, incoherent scenario, two independent, unsychronized local oscillators (LOs) are used at the transmitter and receiver side. To recover the baseband signal, the radio frequency (RF) is down-converted to a near zero intermediate frequency (IF) of 200 kHz. A complex power detection is performed on the in-phase (I) and quadrature (Q) channels to obtain the amplitude information of the transmit signal and hence to recover the sent data.
