Isolation systems are used to weather decouple vibrating machines from their environment or to reduce vibration transmission from the environment onto sensitive equipment. Optical communication systems in aerospace engineering are a concrete field of appliance. This work shows a concept of an active isolation device for high precision application. The presented adaptronic approach bases on a functional integration of actuator and sensor into the mechanical structure. The effectiveness of the single functionally integrated actuator is evaluated in a simplified testing environment.
