Performing 3D interaction in Virtual or Augmented Reality environments by using the hand as input device without an additional solid device is of increasing interest especially for entertainment applications. In particular optical tracking systems allow such a wireless and device-less interaction. Most existing interaction techniques do support interaction with one hand only. In this paper a marker-based algorithm for optical infrared tracking systems, allowing interaction with two hands is presented. Several non-rigid constellations of markers, called dynamic group models can be tracked. The concept of dynamic group models, algorithms as well as interaction techniques are discussed in detail.
