The technical progress in key technologies proceeds continuously. Therefore, leading edge and fast moving knowledge will increasingly be imparted via Web-based professional training and advanced vocational training, too. These approaches should be seen as powerful complements to the "classical further education", e.g. with seminars at universities and in companies. The Web-based education methodology provides new chances and challenges to adopt interdisciplinary expertise needed for mastering the design processes in microelectronics and microsystems (MEMS). Both aspects are discussed in detail. Moreover, adequate solutions are demonstrated with the "Design of Integrated digital Circuits (IC)", and the "Modeling and Simulation of MEMS".
