Processed bulky refuse - fuel for cement production and for producing electricity/heat in power stations
Abstract
Bulky refuse, of which furniture makes up the largest fraction of up to 70%, consists of 50% wood. At present the citizens in Germany have to pay an average of 150/t Euro for disposing of the bulky refuse. The wood contained in the waste is a so-called biogenic fuel and therefore counts as "CO2 neutral" when it is burnt. An imaginary plant located in Braunschweig was considered on the basis of the processing trials. This resulted in costs of about 50/t Euro for two-shift operation and 8 t/h throughput - including collection of the upholstered furniture.
