Supporting Process Engineering in Practice. An Experience Based Scenario
Abstract
Managing software development with the ever-increasing demands for functionality, quality, cost and delivery time, is a major challenge of today's software industry. Making the development process more effective and efficient is one way to fulfil such demands. Process engineering supports the establishment of quality processes with appropriate support for given situations. Many technologies for process engineering are available, but it is not always clear for companies how these technologies can be best applied in practical quality engineering. In this paper we present one practical scenario for quality engineering that illustrates the application of process engineering and process engineering technologies. The scenario is based on our experiences in technology transfer projects with industrial customers. Within the context of this scenario we present concrete examples of process engineering technologies that can support quality engineering.
