Titel
Quality measurement in the field of multi core systems
Abstract
The use of multi core processors are one of the largest paradigm shifts the computer industry did over the last years. These systems have some unique challenges, which need to be addressed. In this work, a systematic literature review about multi core systems and the quality attributes energy consumption, energy efficiency, performance, and real-time was conducted. A systematic literature review has the goal to find, evaluate and interpret available evidence on given research questions. This is done by a defined process, which can be reproduced by third a person. This work aims in finding metrics, software improvement methods for the mentioned quality attributes as well as finding the motivations why people research on them and what is challenging in measuring the attributes. This review results in many metrics and methods for energy consumption, energy efficiency, performance, and real-time, which were grouped and analysed as well as groups of challenges in measuring and motivations for doing research. Through the research, I found out that, many metrics exist for performance but only few for real-time. Further it became obvious that becoming more energy efficient and reducing energy consumption is one of the top hot topics of multi core research as well the huge impact of scheduling on the quality attribute.
