A new Mesh processing technique by a mesh redistribution formulation is presented. Mesh generation is at the present the most promising line of research in order to obtain high quality images by the radiosity method. In this paper previous mesh computation algorithms are reviewed and a new formulation is presented. The new formulation is aimed redesigning the original uniform mesh by increasing the resolution in the zones of high radiosity gradient, without increasing the number of vertexes. The mesh redistribution benefits are quantified in a test case and the presented example shows that redistribution is a suitable algorithm to reduce storage requirements and spee-up radiosity computation of complex scenes.
