Titel
Fine-line screen printing for solar cells
Abstract
Industrial screen printed silicon solar cells have been simulated in order to evaluate the potential of fine-line printing techniques. The calculation yields an increase of conversion efficiency of 0.3-0.4% absolute for a reduction of finger width from 160um down to 60um on homogeneous emitters, assuming a sufficient finger height is realised. Experiments on fine-line screen printing have been carried out by means of a new screen material and a new screen. Therefore several available silver metallisation pastes have been tested. The surface of the silicon wafer emerges to be of evident influence on the feasibility of fine-line contacts. On textured as well as acidic etched surfaces fine-line printing is possible, while difficulties occur on smooth surfaces. Fine-line screen printing in the range of 70um is realised.
