Abstract
For the production of Ni-Mn-Ga single crystalline actuator elements different cutting technologies (wire eroding, diamond wire cutting, water jet cutting, dicing and sawing) were tested and compared. In the present paper the main aim was to identify the best parameters for cutting of actuator elements of different material thicknesses and the quantitative determination of the surface roughness. The results are discussed with respect to surface roughness. First results of production of functional design elements in Ni-Mn-Ga material are shown.
