Titel
New method for freeform fabrication for microstructured parts by combination of inkjet-printing and multiphoton polymerization
Abstract
This paper introduces a new additive manufacturing method for the generation of microstructured parts which combines Inkjet-Printing and Multiphoton-Polymerization (MPP). Deposition of material is done layer by layer with inkjet printing, therefore multiple materials can be combined electively. The typical resolution of Inkjet- Technology is approximately 20 µm, whereas MPP can achieve a resolution below 1 µm. Depending on resolution requirements flat UV-curing or high resolution MPP is used. By omitting high resolution in areas, where lower resolution is sufficient, it is possible to reach sufficient process speed to generate structural sizes of several cubic centimeters with resolution lower than one µm. Furthermore layerwise material deposition by use of Inkjet-Technology allows almost complete geometrical freedom.
