Titel
Scorm wrapped simulation based system for maritime education and training
Abstract
Today's technology based learning is not feasible without the extended use of LMS (Learning Management Systems) for courseware representation and trainee administration. Courseware development should be orientated at SCORM to ensure the later exchange of content and result presentation. However, SCORM was never developed for special purposes like Simulation-based Training. On the other hand simulators and simulation based training are playing the most important role in MET (Maritime Education and Training). Modern solutions are containing highly specialized internal learning management systems optimized to present content and results for MET purposes. They can not easily be integrated in today's LMS. It will be shown for typical MET Software like Engine Room Simulator, Marine Language Training and Maritime Safety Train ing Systems how content and result presentation can be partly wrapped in a SCORM container and used in LMS.
