Abstract
The invention relates to a device for allocating a current measurement value for a geographic position to a map object of a geographical map, wherein the current measurement value comes from a series of adjacent measurement values for adjacent geographic positions, the device having a processor for determining a first probability measurement which indicates whether the current measurement value may be allocated to a first map object that has previously been allocated to at least one adjacent measurement object of the series, and for determining a second probability measurement which indicates whether the current measurement value may be allocated to a second map object having an intersection point with the first map object if the first probability measurement indicates that an allocation of the current measurement value to the first map object is improbable.
