Video content has been proven as a high potential media format, especially in the field of education and training. The advantage of video content is explained by its ability to present time-dependent process flows like physical phenomena. On the other hand, case studies in the field of education and training show that knowledge construction is enhanced by providing the learner with the opportunity to interact with the presentation and thus the video content. An interactive presentation based on video content will lead to a nonlinear narration, enabling the user to navigate through an information space. With this paper, we present two case studies in which interactive video content is deployed in order to support a distributed community for the purpose of collaborative knowledge construction.
