Abstract
Different engineering tools for developing control-software were used in automation technology. Especially writing programs for man-machine control and PLC-software for the same application forces engineers to use different and incompatible tools (e.g. JAVA IDEs and IEC-61131 Programming Tools). This paper shows a XML-based approach for integrating software engineering tools (CASE-Tool, IDE etc.), that enables developers to model PLC-Software with UML and to generate individual program code from this model.
