Titel
Extending a hybrid FEBI-MLFMM-UTD method to treat dielectric objects with the boundary integral method
Abstract
In this paper we first briefly describe the Finite Element (FE) and the Boundary Integral (BI) methods that are used in FEBI-MLFMM-UTD, a hybrid method that numerically solves electromagnetic problems. Then, the aim being reducing the computational complexity, we illustrate the PMCHW formulation of the BI method to treat dielectric objects. Then, in order to give an idea of the potentiality of this method, we compare data where the FE and the BI methods are used to calculate, for a given frequency, the monostatic radar cross section of respectively dielectric and metallic spheres of different radii. Data referring to the actual implementation of the PMCHW formulation of the BI method to treat dielectric objects are planned to be presented at the conference.
