Betreibermodelle - ein erweitertes Leistungsangebot der Investitionsgüterindustrie
Abstract
Plant and machinery makers are having to adjust to the fact that they can no longer simply sell their products in future, but will also have to operate them on behalf of the customers. Especially automotive enterprises are bringing pressure to bear because they prefer to pay a production-linkes user fee instead of a high one-off purchase price. This is revealed by a recent survey on "Innovations in Production", conducted by Fraunhofer-Institut für Systemtechnik und Innovationsforschung ISI, Karlsruhe, Germany. The wide-spread scepticism of the equipment makers towards so-called operator models is only partly justified, finds Gunter Lay, head of the study project: "Operator models also open up new opportunities in stagnating markets for innovative plant and machinery makers."
