Strategic planning and operational decisions affect the efficiency of the business of a forwarding agency. Especially the layout planning has high impact on handling costs. The detailed simulation of internal and external material flows in logistics nodes of road haulage enables the testing of various layout scenarios for forwarding agnecies and the identification of the "best" solution. Simulation studies can be conducted efficiently concerning the comparison of different layout concepts by using a toolbox for generating.
