Titel
A new method of diagnostic analysis for reducing innovation process time
Abstract
The ability to reduce the time-to-market of innovations is a critical factor for firms' competitiveness. The majority of available methods for process time reduction consider only single aspects which possibly cause process delays, so called time drivers. In the context of the economic situation of a company, hardly any information on situation-specific time drivers and time reduction actions is collected, measured, and evaluated. Neither the cost-benefit relation of a measure nor the frequency and time saving potential of time drivers are identified. The newly developed diagnostic method which will be presented in the following resolves these deficits. It constitutes a new approach for reducing innovation process times. On the one hand it allows for identifying situation-specific time drivers and the potential for reducing them. On the other hand, situation-specific measures and their profitability are determined.
