Abstract
DE 102009056706 A1 UPAB: 20110629 NOVELTY - The material has a polymer matrix made of partially crystalline polymer i.e. uncured polyester, and filled with carbon nano tubes. The partially crystalline polymer comprises an amorphous phase. Filling level of the carbon nano tubes in the polymer matrix is selected in such a manner that disproportionate change of electrical resistance of the composite material is occurred with temperature at a temperature range. The temperature range lies below melting temperature and above glass transition temperature of the polymer. DETAILED DESCRIPTION - An INDEPENDENT CLAIM is also included for a method for determining a filling level for manufacturing a composite material. USE - Composite material for use as a conductive material of a self-adjusting heating element or a temperature sensitive element, a temperature sensor or a self-resetting temperature safety mechanism and a heatable fountain solution nozzle (all claimed). ADVANTAGE - The filling level of the carbon nano tubes in the polymer matrix is selected in such a manner that the disproportionate change of the electrical resistance of the composite material is occurred with temperature at the temperature range, so that mechanical characteristics of the composite material are not changed at the temperature range of a positive temperature effect, without inserting a conductive material into the heating element.
