Nowadays the automotive sector emerged to a high innovated segment for the integration of new technologies and subsystems. Short development periods for automotive applications enable a fast launch but demands also for fast development processes for new systems. During the last years the allotment of electronical devices in automobiles grows very fast. Presently electronically components are found almost in each system of a car. Due to this reasons also the integration of optical devices in automotive applications are getting more and more importance. In the last two years this technology offers on the one hand a wide range of new functions and on the other hand several advantages in contrast to the conventional system solutions. A very special optical system is a micromirror application. The paper presents an overview of fields of applications to use the system "micromirror" in the automotive system.
