Abstract
Die Entwicklung von Bauteilen aus Formgedächtnislegierungen (FGL) ist eine konstruktive Herausforderung, die effizient durch den Einsatz moderner Simulationsmethoden auf der Basis fortschrittlicher Werkstoffmodelle unterstützt werden kann. Ziel ist es dabei, die erforderliche Bauteilfunktion und Bauteillebensdauer während des Einsatzes zu gewährleisten.

A discussion covers topics on the development of structural parts from shape memory alloys. This is a challenge that can be supported efficiently by the use of modern simulation methods of forward-looking material of construction models. The goal is at the same time to guarantee the function and service life required of the structural component during its use. Topics include introduction; shape memory alloys; constructional material models; design of medical technology models; component part testing; and summary. An example is made of a NiTi shape memory alloy under cyclic stress with increasing amplitude (1 to 6% elongation). Upon reaching a characteristic stress a martensitic transition occurs in the microstructure. The release of the load leads to a low stress level upon retransformation such that after each release of stress the condition at the point of departure is almost achieved.
