Abstract
WO 2011004022 A1 UPAB: 20110207 NOVELTY - The method involves determining setting of heliostats (12) in a heliostat filed (10) using a central distance measuring device (20), where the measuring device is directed at the heliostats. The distances between respective measuring points (26a-26c) and a measuring site (MO) are measured using the distance measuring device. The spatial alignment of the respective heliostat is determined based on the measured distances. Actuating devices of the heliostat are controlled using a processor (25) such that the heliostat assumes the alignment intended according to a solar altitude. DETAILED DESCRIPTION - An INDEPENDENT CLAIM is also included for a heliostat field comprising heliostats. USE - Method for aligning heliostats of a heliostat field (claimed) in a solar tower power plant. ADVANTAGE - The spatial alignment of the respective heliostat is determined based on the measured distances, and the actuating devices of the heliostat are controlled using the processor such that the heliostat assumes the alignment intended according to the solar altitude, so that the sensory effect for determining the actual orientation of the individual heliostats is reduced without requiring position sensors and/or angle sensors on the individual heliostats, thus enabling installation and maintenance of heliostats with less labor. The method eliminates the need of personnel-consuming individual installing encoders and makes the field measurement technique independent of the heliostat type, so that different types of mirrors can be utilized in the same field.
