Geometrische Werkzeuge zur Untersuchung der Montierbarkeit virtueller Prototypen
Abstract

How can we represent our physical tools, like a screwdriver or an electric screwdriver, in a virtual environment? To this question, settled in the area of virtual prototyping, there are onliy a few analyses available at the moment. This work presents a qualitative analysis based on commercial virtual reality hardware and software. Virtual tools enhance the present way of working in a virtual environment; they help for example in estimating the time required assembling virtual components before even building them. The realization of these tools has been analysed from a critcal point of view in regard to their usability in practical use.
