Abstract
This paper addresses governance strategies to promote the implementation of resource efficient technologies and products in order to create sustainable innovation. The paper highlights results from a global mapping study of products and technologies with high resource efficiency potential. The results are based on a methodological framework, which includes an extensive desk research at worldwide level, international expert interviews and workshops with qualified experts and stakeholders. The applied research has been conducted within a 2-year project by the Wuppertal Institute, Trifolium, Fraunhofer Institute for Industrial Engineering and Stuttgart University, and was funded by the German Federal Ministry of Education and Research.
