This paper introduces the current state of academic and industrial research and development of a mechanical construction kit for customizable handling systems in defined sectors of the area of intralogistics. This subject is the goal of research and development of both
- the ongoing public funded German research project "Gripping modules for intralogistics" (Greifmodule für die Intralogistik) as well as
- the parallel ongoing activities of the preliminary development department of SCHUNK GmbH & Co. KG.
The results of both projects are leading to one common construction kit and will be presented in this paper.
